A little about me... Vi Brown

Vi with a driftwood carving in Campbell RiverI once had a relatively structured "9 to 5" position in eastern Canada; Montreal and Toronto. I say relatively structured because I did a great deal of traveling both for business and for pleasure.

My travels ranged from Frobisher Bay in the north to South Africa and many places in between. This included most of the United States, Canada and some of Europe. I also enjoyed the many popular vacation spots such as Jamaica, Barbados, Freeport, Cuba, Colombia and so on.

Then at one point, this fast pace was no longer attractive. So, I gave up the city life for the wilderness and purchased and operated a fishing and hunting resort for several years. During that time, I participated in all the outdoor activities - snowmobiling, ice fishing, exploring the country side on all terrain vehicles, boating, fresh water fishing, hunting and learning about the wild life and vegetation of the area.

The long awaiting salmon fishing trip!Upon the sale of the resort, I remained in the north country for another few years during which time I obtained my real estate license and sold, not surprisingly, fishing and hunting resorts as well as other vacation properties, motels, bed and breakfast inns, restaurants and even islands.

Then the day came - a long awaited salmon fishing trip to British Columbia. Flying to Vancouver, then travelling by ferry and car through the northern half of Vancouver Island, I was awe-struck. The majestic trees, the lushness of the landscape, the multitude of colour from the well orchestrated gardens, the coastal mountains, and the ocean tideswere all incredible. And there was something special about the people. It seemed that for these island people (please note - almost everyone is from somewhere else), living here was very special.

Vi and friend Kiska overlooking Quadra IslandThe fishing trip was marvelous but the impact of the island stayed with me. It was sufficiently strong that the north Ontario bush became part of my past, and Vancouver Island became my home... namely the northern most urban center; Campbell River. It's an ideal sized town that offered a beautiful wilderness setting and the amenities of a small city. It was time to learn to walk in high heels again, wear business clothes and take my jewelry out of moth balls! I've since made another move to Victoria, BC's capital.

I have been engaged in real estate and have taken every opportunity to explore all facets of this island. It is incredible to me that this island has not yet been fully "discovered".

My work is real estate. It would be a pleasure for me to foster your interests in working, retiring or investing on "my" Vancouver Island. Whatever your interest, be it the charming Port Alice or the metropolis of Victoria, I would be honoured to be your real estate connection!
