Q- I am ready to list my house for sale but don't want my neighbors to know so I don't want a sign on my lawn. Will I be limiting my opportunities to sell?
A - Buyers become aware of properties for sale in several different ways. One of the ways is by a sign on the lawn. Buyers sometimes have preferences for certain neighborhoods and will drive around these to see what is available. This method accounts for 12-14% of the buyers. A sign on the lawn may also prompt a neighbor/friend to mention it to someone they know that is looking for a home. This accounts for about 5% of buyers.
Yes you will be limiting your opportunity to sell by almost 20% - a sizeable limitation! The more people that know that your home is for sale -- the better the opportunity for a sale.
